1. Services Provided
Real Pro Movers Inc. offers optional moving and storage services, which may include packing, transportation, unpacking, and storage of the Customer’s belongings. Each service is charged separately, and all costs will be fully disclosed in advance in the written estimate. Costs may be provided as a firm quote or as an estimate subject to variance on the move day, with the nature of the pricing (quote or estimate) clearly communicated to the Customer prior to the move. Real Pro Movers Inc. reserves the right to apply additional charges, ranging from $150 to $450 per item, for the handling of oversized or overweight items, including but not limited to safes, pianos, pool tables, gym equipment, or similar items. These charges may be applied whether or not such items were disclosed by the Customer during the initial booking conversation, with all costs clearly communicated in the written estimate or upon discovery of such items.
2. Written Estimate and Contract
Real Pro Movers Inc. will provide a written estimate on company letterhead, including:
Company name, address (PH21-2150 E. Hastings St, Vancouver, B.C. V5L 0A5), and contact information (778)-655-7726.
Detailed description of services, including estimated number of boxes, item sizes, and values.
Cost per hour or flat rate, payment terms, and start/delivery dates.
The estimate must be signed by both parties and forms part of the digital contract, which is executed through a digital sign-in and sign-out process via the team leader’s app. This digital contract serves as both the agreement for services and a receipt of services provided.
The final bill will not exceed the estimate by more than 10% unless additional services are requested and agreed upon.
3. Insurance and Liability
Basic Coverage (Option #1): Basic liability coverage is included at $0.60 per pound per item. If the Customer does not respond by email with a signed insurance policy and a circled option, or does not contact Real Pro Movers Inc. at (778)-655-7726 to upgrade the insurance, the Customer will be automatically defaulted to Option #1. No exceptions.
Upgraded Coverage (Options #2 and #3): Full-value protection or other enhanced coverage options are available for an additional fee, covering the replacement cost of lost or damaged items. To select Option #2 or #3, the Customer must either return a signed and circled insurance policy via email or call (778)-655-7726 to update the move’s insurance information.
Acknowledgment: The Customer’s digital signature on the team leader’s app at the start of the move serves as acknowledgment of Real Pro Movers Inc.’s insurance and cargo coverage policy.
OLED Thin Screen TVs: Real Pro Movers Inc. does not agree to move OLED thin screen TVs without their original box and Styrofoam protection. The Company reserves the right to refuse relocation of these items and other similar products that damage easily, even in standard TV boxes, with no monetary penalty. If the Customer insists on moving such items without the specified packaging, a Damage Waiver Form must be signed, releasing Real Pro Movers Inc. from liability.
High-Risk Moves: For moves involving narrow, slippery, or unsafe walkways, or areas with tight spaces and corners that increase the risk of damage despite best care, Real Pro Movers Inc. requires the Customer to sign a Damage Waiver Form. This form releases the Company from liability for damages that may occur due to these conditions.
Pre-Damaged Items: For items that are already damaged but the Customer still wishes to have moved, Real Pro Movers Inc. requires the Customer to sign a Previous Damage Form. This form documents the pre-existing damage and releases the Company from liability for such conditions.
Excluded Items: Real Pro Movers Inc. does not agree to carry documents, specie, or articles of extraordinary value, including but not limited to jewelry, electronics, arts, or irreplaceable family heirlooms. The Company accepts no liability for these items. Customers are advised to consult their home insurance provider for coverage options.
Packed by Owner (P.B.O.) Items: Packed by Owner (P.B.O.) boxes and other wrapped items are excluded from liability, as they are not professionally packed. Real Pro Movers Inc. cannot verify the quality of packing or determine whether items were damaged prior to packing.
Liability Limitation: Receipt of Move Confirmation serves as notice of these terms and conditions. By contracting Real Pro Movers Inc., the Customer agrees to these terms. The Company cannot be held liable for any damage or loss caused to the Customer or third parties as a consequence of breaching this Agreement, including for gross negligence. In the rare event of damage or loss to excluded items, all claims/compensation will be limited to zero ($0.00).
Legal Action: Legal action may arise in cases of libel, slander, or defamation.
Customer Assistance: Customers, friends, or family must not assist the movers, as this will void any possible damage claim, as the Company will be unable to determine the cause of any damage.
High-Value Items: Items valued at $5,000 or higher must be declared in advance; failure to declare limits liability.
Workers’ Compensation: Real Pro Movers Inc. confirms that it or its subcontractors have workers’ compensation coverage to protect against liability for injuries during the move.
4. Claims and Dispute Resolution
Claims for loss or damage must be filed within 14 days for local moves or 30 days for long-distance moves after delivery.
A $250 fee is required to open a claims case, and claims will not be honored until the fee is paid.
Real Pro Movers Inc. will acknowledge claims within 14 days and resolve them within 60 days.
Disputes will be handled per Consumer Complaints Management: A Guide for Canadian Business. Customers may contact Consumer Protection BC for unresolved issues.
5. Storage Services
Storage facilities are secure and protected against theft, fire, and water damage.
Storage fees and insurance coverage will be specified in the contract.
Heat-sensitive or non-transportable items (e.g., plants, flammables) may not be stored; the Customer is responsible for such items.
6. Payment Terms
A deposit may be required, not exceeding 10% above the estimate without agreement. The standard agreement involves billing in 15-minute increments until the job is completed to ensure fairness to both parties.
By making any agreed deposit, the Customer accepts these Terms of Service.
Final payment is due upon completion of the move, with no exceptions. No extortion will be permitted in cases of damage.
Acceptable payment methods will be specified in the estimate.
7. Cancellation and Rescheduling
A deposit of $500 per team per truck is required.
Cancellations or rescheduling require at least 48 hours’ notice to avoid fees.
If the Customer cancels more than 72 hours prior to the scheduled move, 2/3 of the deposit ($333.33) will be refunded. If the Customer cancels within 72 hours of the scheduled move, the deposit is non-refundable.
A $166.66 rescheduling fee applies to any and all changes in date or time, regardless of notice provided.
8. Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of British Columbia.
Real Pro Movers Inc. complies with provincial regulations, including holding a valid BC Services Card.
9. Customer Responsibilities
Provide an accurate inventory of items to be moved.
Ensure items are accessible and ready for pickup (e.g., reserving elevators or parking).
Secure valuables and handle non-transportable items.
10. Company Responsibilities
Provide a digital contract through a sign-in and sign-out process via the team leader’s app at pickup and delivery, detailing terms and delivery dates.
Maintain clean, well-maintained equipment and facilities.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and industry standards.
